The Iowa State Patrol could soon see an increase in funding for more patrolmen.

Thursday morning, a senate subcommittee voted to increase funding for more full-time positions.

The bill allows for about 12 full-time employees.

The President of the Iowa State Troopers Association says the vote is a step in the right direction.

The bill now moves on to the full committee for consideration.
