CLOSURE DELAY: Dubuque Tower To Stay Open Till June

air traffic control

The Federal Aviation Administration is delaying closing control towers at small airports.

They had originally planned to start closing 149 towers over the weekend including the tower in Dubuque.

Now the closure has been delayed until June while the agency resolves legal challenges that have evolved since the announcement.

The closures are the result of the federal sequestration or automatic budget cuts that went into effect on March 1.
