Many Iowans are spring cleaning inside their homes but what about outdoors?

The Iowa DNR is looking for volunteers to help spring clean Walnut Woods State Park, Saturday. The event is from 8 a.m. until noon.

Volunteers will pick up sticks, limbs, trash and other small debris. Organizers ask that you bring work gloves with you.

The 260 acre state park is on the south side of West Des Moines along the Raccoon River.

Volunteers driving there should watch out for construction along SW 63rd.

In July, the DNR is holding its annual Des Moines River clean up. Volunteers will pick-up trash along a 90 mile stretch of the river from Algona to Fort Dodge.
