TRAIN COLLISION: Sisters’ Funeral Set

Two young sisters killed after a train hit their minivan will he laid to rest this weekend.

Five-year old Callie and four-year old Erica Clark were killed on Monday when their mother’s car was hit by a train in the town of Batavia.

A joint funeral and burial for the girls will be held in Batavia on Sunday.

Investigators say Tara Lewman illegally drove around lowered crossing arms into the path of the train.

She and her one year daughter Jordan survived the crash.

A memorial fund has been set up to help the family with burial and funeral arrangements at Libertyville Savings Bank in Fairfield.

Visitation for the girls is being held Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Grace Funeral Care in Batavia. The funeral is scheduled for Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at the same location.

The city of Batavia has donated two lots at the local cemetery for the children.
