APARTMENT FIRE: Thirty Units Evacuated

An apartment fire in Marshalltown has caused an estimated $75,000 in damage.

Crews responded to 105 North Center Street just after 6 a.m. Sunday where they found a third floor apartment on fire.

Police officers helped evacuate the 30 units in the building.

One tenant had to be taken by ambulance to the emergency room for burns to their hands.

Investigators believe the fire was an accident, but will continue looking into it.

Tenants are currently being helped by the American Red Cross.
