What a Monday! You have to love the great weather that helped start off our week in fantastic fashion. We hit the middle 70s. That is 10 to 15 degrees above the average in central Iowa.
Showers and thunderstorms are on the way late tonight. There will be rumbles of thunder. Heavy rainfall is possible through 5 AM. More scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible through the rest of the day….but a better chance for strong storms is going to move through central Iowa.
There is a slight chance for severe weather. Most areas with storms will just see heavier amounts of rainfall. Expect around a half inch of rainfall in Des Moines tomorrow…but some ares are going to see one to two inches of rain before this storm center moves out late in the week.
Much colder temperatures are back for the spring swing. Highs on Thursday will struggle to get into the 40s. There is a chance for light rain/snow mix early Thursday morning.
We will swing back to the 50s and 60s by next weekend.
