STABBING ARREST: Ottumwa Man Charged

An Ottumwa man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that happened Saturday night.

Ottumwa police say they were called to 2219 W. Main Street around 10:10 Saturday night. When they arrived they found a man suffering from non-life threatening stab wounds. The man was taken to the Ottumwa Regional Health Center for treatment and released.

Police identified the suspect in the case, 36-year-old Cassy Bennett, and he was arrested nearby at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

Bennett is charged with willful injury and is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a bond of $5,000.
