The Hawkeyes will hold football practice at Valley Stadium on Sunday.
To attend, you had to pick up a free ticket from Hy-Vee, but those tickets are gone. Hy-Vee spokesperson Ruth Comer told Channel 13 that fans snapped up all 14,000 vouchers.
Bringing practice to the metro is a smart move by Iowa, reaching out to fans is always good, especially after a sub-par season.
Not to mention the past two years, two of the state’s top recruits played high school football in the metro, but committed to Iowa State.
Kirk Ferentz says the westward thinking was for all the fans that make sure to travel to Kinnick and support them during the season. “Just to say thank you to all the great fans we have in central Iowa and also western Iowa.”
Sunday’s practice a Valley Stadium starts at 1:30 p.m.
