A Sioux City man has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a nine-hour standoff with police.

Francisco Bayona-Fonseca is charged with criminal mischief and aggravated assault.

Police say he got into a fight with a man, stabbed him, then argued with his former girlfriend and damaged her car all before holding off officers at a Sioux City home for more than nine hours on March 12th.

Officers eventually broke out the windows of the home and were able to arrest Bayona-Fonseca.

His trial is set to begin in May.
