A Centerville man accused of making threatening statements about his granddaughter’s school was released from jail Thursday.

Brian Davis spent the last week in jail charged with terrorism.

The 51-year-old was arrested after commenting to his physical therapist that security was lax at his granddaughter’s school and any person could just walk in and start shooting.

Davis has no violent criminal history, doesn’t own a weapon, and is currently fighting cancer.

He was released Thursday until his trial after a psychological evaluation deemed he was not a threat.

He faces up to five years in prison if he is convicted.
