The Iowa State Patrol says a man died in a single-vehicle crash in Webster County Thursday night.

Forty-four-year-old David Hubbard of Mooreland was the only person in his truck when it dropped off the shoulder on County Road P-29. Hubbard corrected, swerving back onto the road and over the center line.

The truck entered the east ditch, struck a utility box and became airborne. It landed on its top in the east ditch and caught fire.

Hubbard was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
