Three suspects led police on a high speed chase across the metro Friday.
It all started around 4:45 p.m. Police chased a vehicle through traffic topping speeds of 80 miles per hour. Police say due to the dangerous nature of the chase they tried to initiate a pin maneuver, where two officers drive at the car and try to pin it, so it is forced to stop.
Their first attempt ended in an officer spinning out and hitting a telephone pole. The second time they were able to push the car all the way down Franklin Avenue and into a grassy area which eventually brought the suspect vehicle to a stop near the intersection of 2nd and Franklin.
The three suspects tried to flee on foot, but they were taken into custody.
Police say during the chase one of the suspects threw a pistol out the window, which has been recovered.
Police have not released the names of the suspects.
