Visitors to Gray’s Lake will have to share the part of the trail with construction equipment in the coming weeks.
Years of erosion and flooding have washed away the soil and vegetation on sections of the shore.
Large construction equipment will be brought in next week to install a steel sheet pile wall to help rebuild and preserve the shoreline (shown in the artist’s rendition above.)
City officials say the changes will improve the stability and safety of the lake.
A second phase of work will begin the first week of May that will require closing the trail around the lake for a two week period.
