AGRIBUSINESS: McCarthy Grilled During Confirmation Hearing
Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Nominee Gina McCarthy said during her Senate confirmation hearing last week the EPA has bridges to build with the agriculture community, and she wants the opportunity to change that relationship.
McCarthy suggests the agency is already trying to undo some damage done between the agency and rural America during the past four-years, such as the recent release of personal information about CAFO owners by EPA to environmental groups. That information was originally gathered by E-P-A with the intent to create a national CAFO database.
Even McCarthy’s harshest critics indicate she should be confirmed as the EPA’s next administrator.
