Clouds build back in across Iowa tonight ahead of our next storm. A strong storm system will bring heavy rain and thunderstorms to the state on Wednesday. The rain will continue into early Thursday morning. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 2" are possible with some locally higher amounts where some of the strongest storms move through. Some storms may produce some gusty winds and even hail.
On Thursday, colder air filters in to the state. Highs will be in the 40s. Northwest Iowa will see the rain change to some snow Thursday afternoon and evening. Some of that light snow may even make it's way in to Central Iowa early Friday morning when temperatures will be closer to the freezing mark.
