Two people are being held in the Jasper County Jail on several drug charges.

The arrests were the result of a search warrant that was executed Friday morning at 316 Hickory St. in Newton. The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force and the Jasper County Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team worked together to execute the warrant.

Officials say 29-year-old Joshua Fifer of Newton and 23-year-old Jordan Sedlock of Grinnell were arrested at the residence.

Fifer is charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Sedlock is charged with possession of a schedule four controlled substance with intent to deliver, failure to have a drug tax stamp, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men are being held in the Jasper County Jail.
