A three year old fell from a third story window Friday and survived.
The Des Moines Register says it happened around 8 p.m. at the Timber Crest apartments on Lower Beaver Road.
Des Moines police did told Ch. 13 the boy was pushing on the window when he fell and he landed on his feet.
Officers say the mother took the child to hospital as a precaution.
The Register says police told them muddy conditions may have padded the child’s fall.
This incidents comes just weeks after legislation to strengthen requirements for stronger window screens in some kinds of building failed in the State House.
Supporters of the failed bill, Jamie and Shanda Geneser lost their 4-year-old daughter, Hannah, two years ago after she fell from a third floor bedroom window. The window had a screen but it wasn’t strong enough to hold her back.
