District officials say someone changed scores on standardized tests at a Davenport elementary school, but they can’t figure out who did it.
State officials are now trying to get to the bottom of the scandal.
District officials say they noticed a high number of erased answers on tests from Madison Elementary School in February, but haven’t been able to identify who is responsible.
Davenport Superintendent Art Tate says, “its gut wrenching for all of us. From the moment that I saw it and started the investigation, I had a very, very bad feeling. The staff is devastated.”
The state department of education plans to review the district’s investigation. Meanwhile students at the school will be re-tested starting next week.
The Scott County Attorney’s Office has also been notified.
