Holy Trinity School in Des Moines sent a letter home to parents saying they will be on a modified lockdown Friday.
The school put the lockdown in place Thursday afternoon and the restrictions will remain in place throughout the school day Friday.
The school says it’s taking the precaution out of concern for the safety of a family whose children attend the school.
During the lockdown kids are not allowed outside and all entrances are secured.
Class routines will go on as normal and students have been reminded that they should not open exterior school doors for anyone.
The school says it is working to have a police officer on the campus and will notify parents if the situation changes.
