Drivers on Interstate 235 will notice a new construction project getting underway.
Crews have begun work adding an auxiliary lane to the westbound side of 235 between 63rd Street and 73rd Street. The extra lane is designed to help merging traffic.
The Department of Transportation says the project will be finished by November. Traffic on the interstate should not see too much of an impact besides some temporary night time closures.
The 73rd Street exit ramp will be closed for two months while the bridge over the railroad and 73rd Street is extended.
The entrance ramp from 63rd Street will also be closed for approximately two weeks in June.
