WEEKEND WEATHER: Warm Weather Takes Over State

This is an archived article and the information in the article may be outdated. Please look at the time stamp on the story to see when it was last updated.

It may be the best spring weekend of the season for the state as widespread 70s and a few 80s will take over the forecast from Saturday through Tuesday.

Saturday will still see much of the state in the upper-60s, but Sunday will make a big jump with most seeing at least 70 and SW Iowa pushing 80 degrees. The warm weather will hang around into early next week with highs near 80 both Monday and Tuesday before we turn cooler again.

The threat for rain will be nearly invisible through much of the weekend with plenty of sun. By the time highs near 80 late Sunday, isolated shower and thunderstorm chances will slide back into the forecast for Sunday night and Monday.
