The last few years many graduates struggled to find jobs after college but research shows this year’s graduates will be more likely to find a job.

Grandview University graduate, Alyssa Turnquist says, “I’m hoping with things starting to pick back up that the jobs will start opening and we’ll be ready to go.”

According to the National Association of Colleges and Employers, businesses plan to hire two percent more grads then they did a year ago. They say it’s based on the improving economy.

Compared to other regions, the Midwest has the most available jobs for graduates.

According to the USA Today, students with nursing, teaching, accounting or computer science degrees are more likely to find jobs first.

98 percent of Grandview graduates find a job within the first six months of graduation.  Both the University of Iowa and Iowa State are in the low 90’s.
