Three local players heard their names called on the final day of the NFL draft.

The first one off the board was Iowa State's AJ Klein.

The former Cyclone linebacker was taken by the Carolina Panthers in the 5th round.

“It’s been stressful, very very stressful. It’s been a long 3 or 4 months ever since the season ended last year,” said Klein. “It’s been a long long wait and today seemed like it was never going to end and finally it did and words can’t describe the emotions.”

Three more Cyclones will get a shot in an NFL camp.

Linebacker Jake Knott signed with the Eagles, defensive lineman Jake McDonough heads to the Jets and wide receiver Josh Lenz goes to the Bears.

Three Hawkeyes will also get an extra look. Quarterback James Vandenberg signs with the Vikings, offensive lineman Matt Tobin heads to Philly and wide receiver Keenan Davis is a Cleveland brown.
