Today will be a great day to get outside and enjoy Iowa. Skies will be mainly sunny and temperatures warmer, reaching the mid to upper 70s. Clouds will begin to increase from the northwest as a cold front approaches Iowa later today. Tonight will be mostly cloudy and a few isolated showers are possible very early on Monday morning. We will keep a few showers in the forecast on Monday before noon with a party cloudy afternoon and highs back in the 70s.

The weather really turns on Wednesday. A storm system will get stuck over Iowa through the end of the week keeping cloudy and cool conditions, as well as plenty of rain and showers on and off through Saturday. Highs will only be in the 50s and 40s.

We call the system expected to impact Iowa at the end of the week a cut-off low. It will sit and spin over the Central U.S. with really no rhyme or reason. It will be a changeable forecast depending on where the low sets up. So stay tuned to the weather details through out the week.
