The Des Moines School Board is holding a special session Monday night regarding open enrollment.
Twenty families are appealing the board’s decision to reject applications for open enrollment.
The appeals come after new rules were implemented by the district saying schools must have an equal number of both high and low-income students.
District officials say more than 300 families received rejection letters due to their so-called socio-economic status.
The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
