We all know cell phones can help us keep in contact with loved ones and friends, but the mobile devices aren’t always easy to use.
A team from AT&T visited the South Side Senior Center on Tuesday to offer a bit of coaching.
Local seniors were invited attend and work with a representative in a one-on-one session to learn about their cell phone. The experts went over everything from basic inbound and outbound calling to texting and internet navigation.
“We’ve helped with simple questions like setting up voicemail and how to add contacts to their phone, but taking it a step further how to upload those photos to Facebook and help share those memories with family and friends,” Matthew Bennett explained.
Organizers say the individual sessions are designed to let the seniors feel comfortable asking questions.
The helpers assisted about 15 people regardless of their provider.
