When organizers penned this weekend as the first Des Moines Farmers Market of the season they probably weren’t expecting to deal with snow.
Despite the record breaking weather, organizers tell us they won’t cancel unless there is a severe weather event on the day.
The market opens along Court Avenue at 7 a.m. and runs until 1 p.m. Saturday.
In season right now is asparagus, carrots, greens, spring garlic and turnips.
The snow is expected to be gone by then, but if you are going, you’ll likely still need a coat. The forecast can be found here.
