An extradition hearing has been set for the Sioux City man accused of shooting a police officer in the face.

Police say, 22-year-old Jamal Dean shot at Officer Kevin McCormick during a traffic stop last Monday, hitting the officer in the forehead.

The shooting sparked a massive manhunt, but U.S. Marshals arrested Dean on Saturday, two hours north of the Mexican border.

Dean didn’t waive extradition after his arrest last weekend.

The hearing is set for Wednesday afternoon in Nueces County, Texas.
