The Red Cross is helping a family find a new place to stay after a house fire in Des Moines Tuesday night.

The home at 1540 19th Street caught fire around 10:35 p.m.

Crews say the fire started on the back of the house and spread to the roof. No one was hurt.

Fire crews closed down 19th Street north of Forest for about two and a half hours to put out the fire.

Investigators are looking for the cause.
