A jury in northern Iowa says it might not be able to deliver a verdict against a teen accused of killing his mother.
Fourteen-year-old Noah Crooks is charged with first degree murder and assault with intent to commit sexual abuse.
Prosecutors say he assaulted his mother then killed her in March of 2012.
The case went to the jury Tuesday, but a jury spokesman told the judge Wednesday that they are close to being a hung jury.
The judge ordered them to resume deliberations Thursday.
