Des Moines police are investigating two robberies that happened Wednesday morning.

The first one took place around 7:00 a.m. at the French Way Cleaners on Ingersoll Avenue.

Police say a suspect in his 20s, wearing a mask, displayed a gun and asked for money. The suspect was about five-foot-four with a medium build. He left the store on foot.

The second robbery report was called in about 20 minutes later at a Subway restaurant on Merle Hay Road. Police say that suspect was also wearing a mask, displayed a gun, and asked for money.

Police don’t think it’s the same suspect that robbed the cleaners because the descriptions of the suspects don’t match. The suspect in the Subway robbery was about five-foot-eleven and 180 pounds. He fled the area on foot.

If you have any information on either of these robberies, call police.
