A possible presidential candidate for the 2016 race will be in Iowa Friday night.
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is headlining the Iowa GOP Lincoln Dinner. The spring fundraiser is being held in Cedar Rapids and is sold out.
It's no secret Paul is considering a presidential run. The event gives him a chance to mix and mingle with players who will play key roles in the Iowa caucus.
Paul raised his political profile earlier this year after a 13-hour filibuster, the ninth longest in recorded history.
Rand, who is the son of former presidential candidate Ron Paul, was against the nomination of John Brennan to head the CIA and the Obama administration’s use of drones.
Senator Chuck Grassley and Congressman Steve King will also speak at the dinner.
