Witnesses tell Des Moines police a motorcycle driver was going too fast before he collided with a car Tuesday afternoon.

It happened just after 5:00 p.m. at the intersection of Hickman and Prospect Road. According to police reports the motorcycle driver, 53-year-old William Sears of Des Moines, wobbled on his bike from going too fast then hit the rear of another car.

Sears was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Paramedic says he had big cuts to his stomach and chest.

He was taken to Methodist Medical Center for surgery. His condition isn’t being released but police say Sears is still in the hospital.
