A western Iowa woman has been found guilty of lesser charges in connection with her son’s death.

A Monona County judge ruled Ashley Cameron of Onawa is guilty of involuntary manslaughter and child endangerment.

Cameron was originally charged with first-degree murder in the February incident.

Prosecutors say Cameron held 15-month old Markis Dahms’ head under a running faucet in the bathtub until he drowned.

Defense attorneys argued the child had a seizure that caused him to drown.

Cameron’s sentencing is June 28th. She faces up to 50 years in prison.
