Iowa’s unemployment rate dropped again in April.
The new numbers released Friday by Iowa Workforce Development show the rate fell from 4.9-percent to 4.7-percent.
“The state’s unemployment rate continued to show improvement in April, falling to its lowest level since December 2008,” said Teresa Wahlert with the IWD. “The statewide labor force also grew for the fourth consecutive month, a sign that individuals are feeling more confident about the job market.”
The Iowa unemployment rate was at 5.2-percent a year ago.
Nationally, unemployment numbers also decreased in April from7.6-percent to 7.5-percent.
