Des Moines police say they’ve arrested a man suspected of robbing a bank on Monday and say he’s also the same person who robbed a different bank in April.

Officers arrested 30-year-old Beau Peterson overnight with the help of Ankeny police.

Peterson was found at a hotel in Ankeny and brought back to the Des Moines Police Department.

He’s charged with two counts of first degree robbery.

Police say he robbed the West Bank on East Euclid Monday around 1:30 p.m.  They say he showed a gun, and took money. Police say Peterson dropped $2,000 in the parking lot before he got into a car and drove away.

Police say an interview with Peterson led them to believe he also robbed the Community State Bank on East 33rd on April 23rd.
