Drake University is hosting a retirement reception for a Bulldog icon Tuesday.
Dolph Pulliam is retiring after 24 years with the university. Pulliam attended Drake in the 60s, and was part of the basketball team that placed third in the NCAA tournament
He stayed in Des Moines and became a news broadcaster. Following that he took on the role of marketing and promotions director for Drake Athletics, before transitioning into his role as director of community outreach and development.
He also called the home Bulldog basketball games.
Pulliam retires at the end of the school year.
Drake is holding a retirement reception at 2:30 p.m. at the Olmstead Center.
