As a special way to celebrate nearly 100 years of camping the Mid-Iowa Council is looking for the oldest living boy scouts.

For the 90th anniversary of Camp Mitigwa the Boy Scout Council is putting out a call for former campers.

“Camping is such an integral part of Scouting, and we wanted a fun way to celebrate Camp Mitigwa’s 90th anniversary.  So we’re getting together as many of our former campers as possible to join us for a full afternoon of bringing the camp’s history to life,” Eipperle said.  “Camp Mitigwa looks a lot different and so do our Scout uniforms, but much of what Scouting has to offer is timeless.”

The “most seasoned” Scouts and Scout leaders will be honored at a celebration on June 15 to kickoff Mitigwa’s official summer camp season.

If you think you know the oldest living camper you are asked to call the Mid-Iowa Council at 515-266-2135.
