Today will start off cloudy but skies will clear quickly through midday.  Highs this afternoon will be in the upper 60s, which is roughly 5 degrees below average for this time of year.  Winds will be strong out of the northeast allowing for a chilly breezy at times.  Today’s weather rating is a 7.

Central Iowa will stay dry until late Friday when our next system rolls in with some weekend weather.  Scattered thunderstorms will begin late Friday/early Saturday and persist into next week.  Thunderstorms over the weekend will produce heavy rain, but severe weather looks unlikely at this time.
