The Iowa Red Cross has sent another volunteer to assist with Oklahoma tornado recovery.

Mary Dooley flew out of the Des Moines International Airport Friday morning. There are now two volunteers with the Iowa Red Cross on the ground to help in Oklahoma.

Dooley knows just how important her job will be.

“Every disaster is different in many aspects the devastation is terrible a tornado that went for 17 miles is incredible. We’ve seen in Iowa an F5 in Parkersburg, so we know what it can do. We know how much people need the Red Cross after a disaster like that,” says Dooley.

Two more Iowa disaster workers will deploy to Oklahoma.  One from Marshalltown and another from Ottumwa. They’ll be working in Shawnee.
