A Flash Flood Watch is in effect for most of the state of Iowa through noon on Tuesday. More flooding rains are expected overnight tonight.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch that was in effect for Southwest Iowa has been cancelled early. Strong storms with heavy rain and frequent thunder and lightning continue to move through Central Iowa. The risk of damaging winds and hail is diminishing. Rainfall amounts look to range from a quarter inch to as much as 2" in some spots. The highest rainfall amounts will occur in Western and Southern Iowa. The rain will come to an end by 6 AM Tuesday.
Thunderstorms look to re-fire again Tuesday evening. Temperatures will be slightly warmer the rest of the week in the low 80s.
