Two Des Moines teens charged in a brutal carjacking have waived their first hearing in adult court.

Both 16-year-old Terrance Cheek Jr. and 15-year-old Leshaun Murray waived their preliminary hearing on Tuesday, according to the Des Moines Register.

Murray, Cheek and a third teen, 16-year-old Kenneth Barry are all being tried as adults for their involvement in a February carjacking.

Police say the three teens brutally beat Mike Wasike before stealing his car.  Wasike remains hospitalized with severe brain damage unable to walk, talk or see.
