Flooding has affected all areas of the state including the previously severely dry northwest corner where farms have turned into lakes.
In the northeast corner of the state there has been a reminder of the dangers of flooding.
Authorities suspect an Ackley man died when flood waters over the road swept away his car, Monday.
Witnesses told Butler County sheriff’s deputies, 71 year-old Howard Hodson tried to drive through water flowing over Westbrook Avenue when the current took the SUV into a creek bed.
Sheriff’s deputies say the car is still underwater and they think Hodson is the only one inside. Fire rescue crews say they can’t get to the car because of the speed of the current.
Police have yet to confirm the driver’s condition or location.
