An Iowa Division of Narcotics enforcement special agent is facing charges for falsifying a Polk County Judge’s signature.

39-year-old Jonathan Borg turned himself in Tuesday and is free on bond.

Borg is charged with felonious misconduct in office, a class D felony.

Documents show Borg falsified the judge’s signature in February on a returned search warrant in connection with a Des Moines narcotics investigation.

The 16-year veteran has been placed on paid administrative leave until the outcome of his August 12th trial.

Authority moved to reassure the public, “Agents with Narcotics Enforcement will continue to work with integrity and dedication in communities all across the state,” said Director Steve DeJoode in a press release.

“Regardless of the current controversy, we will remain focused on our primary goal: to remove drugs from our streets and minimize the devastating impact these substances have on our youth and our families.”
