A former lawmaker says he is considering another go at state senate.

Tony Bisignano told a labor group on Wednesday that he will run for Senator Jack Hatch’s seat if he chooses to run for governor. Hatch’s district includes the south side of Des Moines and the Sherman Hill neighborhood.

Bisignano is a former state senator who left office in 1997 following legal troubles. He says he has learned from his mistakes and is ready to return to public office.

Bisignano is currently the head of human resources for Polk County.
