A Hampton doctor facing felony sexual abuse charges will appear in court Thursday.

Dr. Brian Hansen is charged with two counts of sexual abuse and six counts of sexual exploitation by a counselor or therapist. The counts cover acts against seven victims.

Last September the Iowa Board of Medicine suspended Hansen’s license when six co-workers accused him of sexual harassment.

The allegations to the medical board claimed Hansen physically threatened one woman to engage in sexual acts with him. He is also accused of watching pornography and masturbating in the presence of some of the victims while at work.

The alleged incidents happened while Hansen was practicing medicine in Hampton from 2009 to 2012.

Hansen is currently the executive medical director for ABCM, a company that owns 50 nursing homes.

He is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday in Franklin County.
