BUSY JUNE: Events To Draw Money And Visitors To Des Moines

Metro residents should prepare for a busy month with many visitors ahead.

According to the Greater Des Moines Convention and Visitors Bureau 16 events scheduled for the month of June will draw more than 600,000 attendees to the area.

The events ranging from the World Pork Expo to the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships are expected to bring nearly $54 million to the Des Moines economy.

“June has always been busy in Greater Des Moines, but this year we’ve taken it to a new level,” says Greg Edwards, President and CEO of the GDMCVB. “We’ve jam packed June with an event nearly every single day of the month. The region will be buzzing with activity and entertainment for all ages.”
