Central Iowa’s most recent NBA star was back in town Friday hanging out with fans.
Ames native Harrison Barnes elevated his game, and his fame in this year's NBA playoffs, when he averaged 16 points, including 51 in the final two games which made him the first player in NBA history to score 25 points in back-to-back playoff games, after never before scoring 25 points in any previous game.
Hundreds of Barnes fans lined up at the Urbandale Hy-Vee Friday afternoon to meet him.
It took 90 minutes to go from the back of the line to the front.
Barnes signed autographs, posed for pictures, and thought about his road from Ames to NBA.
