The attorney for the Wapello County man accused of killing his pregnant wife wants a new judge in his next trial.
Seth Techel is accused of killing Lisa inside their agency home last May.
Earlier this year, Techel’s first degree murder trial ended in a mistrial when jurors could not reach a unanimous decision.
Techel’s second trial is set to begin in August. It’s been moved to Henry County.
Friday, Techel’s attorney filed a motion to have the judge, Daniel Wilson, removed from the second trial.
The Ottumwa Courier reports the attorney claims Judge Wilson made mistakes during the first trial, showed personal bias and should be removed from the case.
The court is still considering the request.
