The Iowa State Patrol is investigating a car accident that left one person dead.

It happened just east of Grand Junction just before 10 p.m. Sunday.

Investigators say 52-year-old Kristina Becker-Duroe was southbound on X Avenue when she failed to yield to an eastbound Union Pacific train.

The State Patrol is not releasing much information at this time, but Channel 13 crews on the scene say the car was pushed between 75 and 100 yards.

The Grand Junction Fire Department, the Greene County Sheriff’s Department and the Iowa State Patrol all responded to the accident.

It remains under investigation.
